Admission requirements for Fırat University Faculty of Education Primary Mathematics Teaching Undergraduate Program are; for Turkish citizens; having a high school diploma and being eligible to enroll in our program through the central exam score preference organized by the Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). For international students; having a high school diploma and an "Equivalence Certificate" issued by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) and gaining the right to enter the programs according to the scores they receive from exams equivalent to international university entrance exams such as SAT, ACT etc. recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The duration of education in the Primary Mathematics Teaching Program is 4 years and the education method is normal education. The aim of the Primary School Mathematics Teaching Undergraduate Program is to provide teacher candidates with the basic knowledge, skills and abilities that will be necessary in their professional lives, to train primary school mathematics teachers who can combine field experiences with theoretical education, who can be a good role model in their personal and professional lives, who closely follow the developments in their field, who have a scientific understanding and ethical principles, who can use their time efficiently, who have effective communication skills, who are aware of lifelong learning and who have adopted the principle of self-repetition, and who are sensitive to people, society, nature, art and culture. In our program, which aims to achieve this goal, theoretical and practical courses are given by faculty members with various fields of expertise (1 professor, 5 associate professors, 3 assistant professors and 1 research assistant), as well as social and cultural activities. In order for teacher candidates to successfully complete this program, they must successfully complete all courses in the program (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS) and obtain a weighted grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00. Teacher candidates who meet these conditions are entitled to receive a bachelor's degree in Primary School Mathematics Teaching. Our graduates are employed as Primary School Mathematics Teachers in official and private institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. They can also be employed as teaching staff in higher education institutions by taking a master's/doctoral degree at home or abroad.
